UMNO bahagian di Pahang dan Kelantan hari ini menyuarakan sokongan padu mereka agar jawatan Presiden dan Timbalan Presiden tidak dipertandingkan pada pemilihan parti akan datang.
Di KUANTAN, Ketua UMNO Bahagian Lipis, Datuk Abdul Rahman Mohamad berkata, kedudukan Presiden UMNO, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dan Timbalannya, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin perlu dikekalkan kerana parti keramat tersebut memerlukan pemimpin berjiwa besar untuk menarik sokongan Melayu terhadap parti itu.
Menurut beliau, perkara utama yang perlu diberi perhatian pada masa kini adalah memperkukuhkan parti bagi persediaan menempuh Pilihan Raya Umum Ke-14 (PRU-14)....

Tindakan Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad memperdaya orang-orang Melayu mengundi Umno BN samalah seperti ayah tidak siuman yang memaksa anak-anaknya memakan makanan basi, kata Naib Presiden PAS, Salahuddin Ayub.
"Dr Mahathir hakikatnya memperdayakan orang-orang Melayu mengundi Umno BN dalam pilihan raya 5 Mei lalu kerana beliau sudah tahu Umno tidak lagi berjuang untuk bangsa, agama dan tanahair. "Bekas Perdana Menteri bertindak seperti ayah tidak siuman yang memaksa anak-anaknya memakan makanan yang sudah basi, busuk dan kotor," kata beliau.
Malah, kata Salahuddin, bekas Presiden Umno itu sebenarnya mendedahkan pekungnya sendiri apabila menulis, "Umno berjuang untuk jawatan dan pangkat, untuk memperkayakan diri, untuk sagu hati, untuk poket sendiri". "Sudah tersebar luas dan menjadi rahsia umum menjelang pilihan raya umum lalu bahawa Dr Mahathir berkata beliau lebih bimbangkan keselamatan anak-anak dan cucu-cucunya jika Pakatan Rakyat menang dalam pilihan raya itu....

MCA's stand of not accepting any positions in federal and state governments can only be reversed through an extraordinary general meeting (EGM).
Its president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said if the EGM was not held, the party would only discuss the matter during the party annual general meeting (AGM) at the end of the year.
“If the delegates agree for an EGM, we will hold it to discuss the issue.
“If not, we have to wait for our AGM (to deliberate over it),” he said after a dinner with Kedah MCA leaders at a hotel here yesterday....

When Hamlet bemoans “the oppressor’s wrong…, the law’s delay, the insolence of office”, it is a classic case of art imitating life. Except that in our present condition, the powers that be are seeing it fit that life should imitate art.
So, as last week’s events have shown, in re-arresting Tian Chua, Tamrin Ghafar, and Haris Ibrahim just four days after they were freed by the court, the police plainly displayed ‘the insolence of office’ and showed utter contempt to the magistrate who had ordered their release.
Prosecuting them as well as other activists and opposition leaders for activities linked to the “Blackout 505” rallies therefore adds to ‘the oppressor’s wrong’ and nails the lie on Najib’s ‘reform agenda’ so proudly proclaimed not just to the nation but the world at large....

Police today confirmed that they had received notification by the organisers for the June 15 Kuala Lumpur Black 505 rally but said the notice was "incomplete".
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar told reporters that the organisers failed to obtain permission from the management of their intended Padang Merbok venue, which is Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
"They sent the notice to the Dang Wangi OCPD, unfortunately the notice was incomplete....
