KUALA LUMPUR: Political cartoonist Zulkiflee SM Anwar won his suit against the Government and four others over the seizure of 66 of his books and a painting in 2010.

High Court Judicial Commissioner Vazeer Alam Mydin Meera allowed the claim on Tuesday.

In a suit filed last year, the cartoonist, popularly known as Zunar, claimed that he had suffered damages and losses due to the seizure of the items by the police.

He had applied for RM1,650 in special damages for the books and asked for the return of the items as well as costs, interests and other relief.

Vazeer ordered the police to return the 66 books to Zunar.
