Miri, 16 April 2011
Miri the battleground
Yes, its started. Voting for the 3 seats in Miri (Piasau / Pujut / Senadin) started at 8am this morning, with Mr Andy Chia, candidate for the Pujut state seat being the first to vote. He was greeted at the gates of of SK (M) Dato Permaisuri by many of his supporters who took their places behind him to vote.
Voting in the morning moved gradually slow picking after 10am with minor incidents in SK (Cina) Chung Hwa Pujut where it was claimed that the DAP candidate Mr Fong started tearing down posters of En Andy Chia of BN. It was a bit chaotic but the Police managed to calm things down so that the orderly voting process could carry on.
Are the DAP tactics working in Sarawak ? Are the Foo Chows of Sarawak giving in to DAP from Peninsular Malaysia ? Is this the revelation that might come tonight when the results are announced.
Voting in these 3 areas are still low.
Piasau - 37%
Pujut - 28%
Senadin - 28%
The battle for Miri is on.
