Armed pirates boarded a Japanese oil tanker in the Strait of Malacca, kidnapping three Indonesian crew and stealing some of the vessel’s shipment of diesel fuel, Malaysian media said Wednesday.

The ship of 18 crew was reportedly on its way from Singapore to Myanmar with five million litres of the fuel.

The attack occurred early Tuesday about 16 nautical miles off Malaysia’s west coast, The Star quoted Malaysian authorities as saying.

PKR advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim dropped out of the race for party president due to his March 7 conviction, said current PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Wan Azizah ran uncontested for the president’s post and secured a default win in the upcoming party polls after the only other candidate, Anwar, announced his withdrawal from the race Tuesday via PKR election director Datuk Johari Abdul.

 “The withdrawal of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s candidacy for president was taken following restraints within the Society’s Act, as a result of the Court of Appeal’s judgment that bars him from proceeding with his wish to lead Keadilan,” she said in a press conference at PKR headquarters on Wednesday.

DAP bertegas tidak bersetuju dengan pelaksanaan hudud yang bukan merupakan pendirian bersama yang disepakati dalam Pakatan Rakyat (PR) sejak dari dulu.

Setiausaha Agung DAP Lim Guan Eng berkata, dasar bersama PR serta manifesto pilihanraya 2008 dan 2013 jelas tidak memuatkan pelaksanaan hudud atau penubuhan negara Islam dan ia telah dipersetujui oleh ketiga-tiga parti.

“Mesti ada konsensus ketiga-tiga parti dalam hal dasar. Memandangkan DAP tidak menyokong hudud, isu sokongan PR terhadapnya tidak berbangkit.
